SHPI’s anti-spark dual-layer tubing solution offers excellent protection against weld spatter when fluid is running through the tube. The anti-spark tube is also called the anti-spatter tube or just a spatter tube. This type of tubing comes with two layers, hence double-layer. It is essentially a polyurethane (PE) tube wrapped by an alloy layer. The term spatter refers to weld spatter, a hardened metal droplet generated during a welding process. Welding processes that tend to form weld spatter are MIG/MAG welding. The heat melts welding materials and sprays the molten material over the welding area and what’s left after the process is the spatter.  


The heat and spatter can easily damage the tube near the welding area and therefore the anti-spark jacket is required to protect the tube. Though the spatter tube was originally designed for the welding tubes that deliver gas or coolant, people found the heat-resistant characteristic is also ideal for working environments that involve high temperatures. As a result, it is now very common to use the anti-spark spatter tube in settings such as the injection molding foundry or power transmission systems.   • SHPI Anti-Spark Dual Layer Tubing was developed by taking Polyurethane of inner tubing and jacketing it with a specially formulated flame retardant cover. 
  • This tube can be especially used for difficult working environment where there are heat and welding sparks. The Jacket protects the tubing from incidental contact with Welding Spatter.
  • The outer cover meets UL 94 VO requirements and offers strong insulating properties, while resisting oils, greases, aqueous solutions, ozone, heat aging and ultraviolet light.
  • SHPI Anti-Spark Dual Layer Tubing are recommended for use in automation welding lines because of their lighter weight compared to traditional rubber hoses.
