What Is a Tube Cutter?
A tube cutter is a handy tool used during pneumatic tubing installation and maintenance. It is mainly used for cutting plastic tubing such as PU tubing and nylon tubing.
Before tubing is connected to a push-in fitting, the tube end should be cut straight and evenly. An angled, flattened, or visibly burred cut may affect the contact surface after insertion and reduce sealing performance.
The tube cutter body is designed with a tubing guide to help position the tube, making the cutting direction more stable and reducing the risk of angled or deformed cuts.
Tube Cutter Type Comparison
